We are looking for a motivated and dedicated Engineering Manager to lead the Observability Toolset Engineering (OTE) team, which has end-to-end responsibility for multiple toolsets (e.g., Grafana, OTEL Collectors, Tempo, Fluentbit, etc.). The OTE team is one of four teams in the Service Reliability and Observability (SRO) department, working together towards our shared vision to enhance digital services quality and user productivity.

In the SRO department, we develop and provide modern observability services and standardised practices to ensure IT systems are efficient and reliable, saving time for infrastructure and software engineers.

You will be a valuable addition if you enjoy working with people, are keen on maintaining your technical skills, and have a forward-thinking and co-creation mindset when seeking solutions to complex situations.

You will have the chance to learn the depth and breadth of different technological stacks, ranging from infrastructure (virtual machines, containerisation, networks, databases, etc.) to application runtime and the modern observability stack, while contributing to critical IT system reliability improvements.

Mission

• Act as HR manager and technical lead for your team members, being accountable for their growth on both a professional and personal level
• Run, build, and evolve toolsets within the Observability Services domain
• Collaborate with Product Owners, SREs, developers, and critical stakeholders to ensure observability toolsets create the expected value
• Drive strategic initiatives to deliver on Danske Bank’s wide goals (e.g., migration to AWS)

Skills

• At least 5 years of experience working as a Software or Infrastructure Engineer, or within the SRE domain
• Experience managing systems in an automated way on private and/or public cloud infrastructure
• Experience owning observability and monitoring tools (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus, ELK Stack, OpenTelemetry, tracing, APM, etc.)
• Experience with server-side technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, EKS, OpenShift, etc
• Cross-technical domain knowledge and willingness to expand the depth and breadth of expertise in infrastructure and application domains
• Solid analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
• A strong sense of ownership and a willingness to contribute
• Upper-Intermediate skills in written and spoken English

We will ensure that exact salary offered for you will be based on your qualifications, competencies, professional experience and requirements for the corresponding job function (salary range from 5200 EUR to 7800 EUR gross EUR/monthly).

Your title in job contract will be Leader of Team.
