Are you a compliance professional with technical talent and interest in automated screening technologies? Do you have experience with regulatory expectations to sanctions screening, adverse media screening and PEP screening, and the associated requirements and risks? Danske Bank’s Screening Controls & Sanctions Monitoring team in the 2nd Line of Defence is looking for a senior compliance officer to join a team of skilled experts, who all have a shared vision for financial crime, controls and technology!

The Screening Controls & Sanctions Monitoring team is part of the Sanctions Advisory & Assurance function in Group Compliance, and is responsible for the oversight and monitoring of Danske Bank Group’s sanctions, adverse media and PEP screening, with a specific focus on screening technology and associated processes and controls. The team also closely supports the wider organization in establishing and improving relevant controls and processes to ensure that they are developed, executed, and maintained in compliance with relevant requirements.

This is a permanent position, which could be based either in Lithuania or Poland.

Depending on your experience and knowledge, we may offer you a different seniority for the role.

Mission

  • Continuously evaluating the Bank’s sanctions, adverse media and PEP risk and screening framework, identifying areas of improvement, and developing clear remediation recommendations and transformation plans
  • Participating in initiatives, as a sanctions, adverse media and PEP screening compliance SME, that focus on enhancing the Bank’s technical sanctions, adverse media and PEP screening framework and controls
  • Supporting the Bank’s 1st Line of Defence in the interpretation of relevant Group policies and instructions concerning the sanctions, adverse media and PEP screening domains
  • Contributing to the technology development agenda of Group Compliance, identifying and championing new technologies that help the Bank deliver an effective sanctions, adverse media and PEP compliance programme
  • Developing, conducting and contributing to assurance and monitoring of the Bank’s sanctions, adverse media and PEP risk and screening processes and capabilities
  • Maintaining oversight of the Bank’s sanctions, adverse media and PEP screening solutions and processes, whilst sharing expertise, directing, and requirement setting from a 2nd Line of Defence perspective
  • Taking part in the development of the Sanctions Advisory & Assurance function together with the wider team

Skills

  • Higher education degree and previous experience (2+ years) with technical sanctions, adverse media and PEP compliance and screening tasks is required
  • Knowledge of financial industry messaging standards and associated schemes (e.g. SWIFT, SEPA) as well as the payments industry is required, with the ability to conduct and enhance screening data quality controls, data accessibility, and data analysis
  • Collaboration: extensive collaboration with units responsible for technology and operations in the sanctions, adverse media and PEP screening domains (e.g. application and product owners) as well as with 1st Line of Defence financial crime risk counterparts
  • Communication: Ability to communicate with various stakeholders on various and complex topics with ease and ability to maintain a dynamic approach with different stakeholders
  • Content knowledge: knowledge of financial crime laws and regulations, industry standards, and best practices, as well as requirements pertaining to sanctions, adverse media and PEP risk management and screening systems. Knowledge of financial industry messaging standards and associated schemes (e.g. SWIFT, SEPA) as well as the payments and trade industry is required
  • Readiness to learn and willingness to stay up-to-date with the changing regulatory landscape, technological industry advancements, and market practices
  • Integrity and determination: ability to oversee the potential risks and find the assess them properly if they do arise
  • Advanced skills in spoken and written English language

We will ensure that exact salary offered for you will be based on your qualifications, competencies, professional experience and requirements for the corresponding job function (salary range from 2400 EUR to 3600 EUR gross EUR/monthly).

Your title in job contract will be Officer – Compliance.
