My name is Jakob Alander, and I am Head of Development at Telia Division X. We are a great bunch of diverse people, and I am super proud of every member of my teams. 

My colleagues and I are looking forward to onboard a lead backend developer who will help us tackle our challenges in building a well-engineered ecosystem around our IoT offer. You will lead the work in our Device Management Team which is fully responsible for the development and operation of our DMS system which currently handles around 35.000 IoT devices in buses and buildings.

We are defining Smart Public Transport, any IT-service you can imagine on a bus, train, or a tram, we deliver to our customers. We offer passenger counting, real-time traffic information, eco-driving, signage control, breathalyzer, internet onboard and many other services, to make commuting a safer and more enjoyable experience. Our DMS system is the heart of all this, making sure that devices have the right software and the right configuration. 

We have our backends in Azure and on prem with both Windows and Linux servers. We develop the backend software in IIS and C# with a lot of integrations to MsSQL, and data is sent over MQTT and REST.  Our embedded software runs on Linux and is written in C++ for performance reasons. 

Is this you? 

As a lead developer you take pride in writing robust, well tested and readable code that will run in our backend. You have experience in leading a team of senior developers, both making sure that engineering standards are kept high, that your team has a great working climate and that your team works in an agile and efficient way. You are also comfortable having operational responsibility for a highly complex ecosystem of databases and webservices. 

You will be the first one in in a newly formed team which will take on full development and operational responsibility for our DMS. You will be the technical expert on how the system is built and map out the future development for higher capacity and increased resilience. To your help you will be surrounded by a team of senior and mid-level engineers, and as team lead you’re expected to mentor less experienced colleagues. You will make sure your team focus on tasks which gives best return on investment and that long-term maintainability is valued.

• Solid experience in C#, IIS and MsSQL 

• Infrastructure as code 

• Unit & integration testing 

• Network communication 

• Azure, Windows Server, MQTT, Git, Bash, Docker,
