KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the applications team.
- Provide support, guidance, leadership, and motivation to promote maximum team performance.
- Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of application platforms, ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance of all applications, while ensuring seamless integration, performance, and s ecurity of relevant applications, aligning with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee the full lifecycle management of applications, including upgrades, patching, decommissioning, and proper testing of new systems and changes.
- Manage outside vendors and contractors to meet performance expectations, ensure customer satisfaction, and demonstrate continuous improvement in the cost efficiency of the applications portfolio.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional IT teams, such as integration, project delivery, cybersecurity, and service delivery, as well as business stakeholders on opportunity identification, issue resolution, and governance matters.
- Be accountable for the end-to-end delivery of applications, ensuring alignment with governance processes and the realization of business benefits, while developing and ensuring adequate funding for business cases related to application investments, including technology upgrades and continuous service improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate the analysis and resolution of issues related to all system upgrades and changes, and conduct workflow analysis, business process reviews, and create functional specifications.
- Advocate for a zero customization approach and an "adopt, not adapt" policy for applications.
- Manage license reviews and establish a regular review process.
- Ability to develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans to minimize potential impacts.
- Ability to assess the potential business value of new technologies and recommend their adoption based on ROI analysis and strategic fit.
REQUIREMENTS
- Experience in managing the full application lifecycle, including upgrades and system decommissioning.
- Deep understanding of software development principles, practices, and methodologies.
- Proven experience in working with IT applications, including strategy development and roadmap execution.
- Experience in managing vendor and contractor relationships.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity, integration, and service delivery processes within IT.
- Understanding of application architecture, scalability, high availability, and system integration
- Knowledge of license management and regular review processes.
