We are looking for a Chief SRE Engineer to join a team which is responsible for embedding Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices and further improving Observability Maturity of critical IT systems at Danske Bank.

In the Service Reliability and Observability (SRO) department, we develop and provide modern observability services and standardized practices to ensure IT systems are efficient and reliable, saving time for infrastructure and software engineers.

You are a good addition if you enjoy understanding ins and outs of technology aspects. Either you come with troubleshooter’s mindset with previous experience in cracking down the most complicated (e.g., ‘slow performance’ or similar) issues or implementing designs of cross technology while making sure it works as expected. No matter if you come from Application, Infrastructure or Observability domains – we will have some challenging work which will extend your expertise cross domains!

You will have a chance to learn depth and breadth of different technological stacks ranging from infrastructure (Virtual Machines, Containerization, Networks, Databases, etc..), application runtime and modern Observability stack while making significant impact on critical IT system reliability improvements.

Mission

• Drive and facilitate Observability Maturity improvement of critical IT systems
• Facilitate SRE practice integration
• Troubleshoot most complex issues (e.g. slow performance’ or similar) and propose improvement path
• Share your knowledge in Observability Academy
• Facilitate and drive reliability improvement projects
• Enable users on how to utilize central Observability Services
• Lead Performance Engineering and optimization activities
• Co-develop modern capabilities of Observability Services, such as Proactive insights, End-to-End visibility and full-stack correlation capabilities

Skills

• 7+ years of experience working as a Software, Infrastructure Engineer or within SRE
• Experience with Observability and Monitoring toolsets (Grafana, Prometheus, ELK Stack, OpenTelemetry, Tracing , etc.)
• Cross technical domain knowledge and willingness to expand depth and breadth of expertise in infrastructure and application domains
• Performance Engineering and optimization experience (e.g., TCP, Linux, Windows, Database, etc.)
• Experience with Private and/or Public Cloud infrastructure
• Solid proven analytical, communication and interpersonal skills
• High sense of ownership and can-do approach
• Upper-Intermediate English skills

We will ensure that exact salary offered for you will be based on your qualifications, competencies, professional experience and requirements for the corresponding job function (salary range from 5280 EUR to 7920 EUR gross EUR/monthly).

Your title in job contract will be IT Software Engineer (Cloud Specialist), Chief.
